UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones can’t seem to get away from Alexander Gustafsson. After Gustafsson was forced to withdraw from their rematch at UFC 178 due to a torn meniscus the Swede isn’t letting Jones move on just yet. Gustafsson reached out to Jones Thursday, wryly apologizing for leaving his mark on the champ’s face. Jones re-opened that same cut above his right eye last week during a training accident. @jonnybones, really sorry for the deep cut I gave you in our last fight. At least you will have a memory from me every time someone opens it up for you. To not make your other eye jealous for not having a cut, I promise to leave a memory on that one as well next time we fight. Now, take care Appearing a bit perturbed, Jones responded to Gustafsson Sunday by asking him to put a stop to what he called ‘media stunts.’ Yes Alex you cut me but you didn’t win the fight. Focus on things you can control like recovery.
