Nate Diaz blasts UFC matchmaking, calls Conor McGregor rematch a ‘crazy’ idea

It doesn’t sound like Nate Diaz is too keen on running it back with Conor McGregor.

Following their big money main event at the UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV), word has leaked of a possible second tilt between the two loudmouthed adversaries, despite McGregor stating he would move back down to featherweight and defend his 145-pound belt next, following his submission loss to Diaz.

The Stockton native isn’t too thrilled at the idea, so he tells Rolling Stone:

“I lost plenty of decisions and I’ve never got a rematch to this day, so that’s crazy. Conor got worked over and now they’re saying rematch, which makes sense, I understand that. I just think it’s funny because it’s like, Jose Aldo didn’t get a rematch.”

Excuses, excuses, excuses …

“Junior” is awaiting his shot at revenge after being ousted by McGregor in just 13 seconds last December, with the Irishman’s coach even backing comments made by “Notorious,” saying that the Brazilian should contend with his pupil next.

But if it pads the bottom line, like McGregor-led PPV events normally do, then UFC brass will typically move in that direction.

If a Diaz-McGregor rematch is officially announced in the coming weeks, it is sure to dampen the moods of Aldo and Frankie Edgar, the latter of which has grown to be irritated by all the Mac Mania.

You can also group lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos into that category, as “RDA” was just recently denied the chance to move up in weight to take on 170-pound titleholder Robbie Lawler.
