Nate Diaz changes tune on Conor McGregor trilogy: I already beat him twice!

Conor McGregor may have evened up the score with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 a few weeks back in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to the Octagon-side judges (video replay here), but the whole world knows the Stockton slugger is really up two-zip.

That’s according to Diaz himself, who recently sat down with Chael Sonnen to shoot the breeze on his “You’re Welcome” podcast (via Flo Combat) and said that even the “Notorious” camp knows he should’ve been crowned the victor once again.

That’s why Diaz isn’t “jumping for joy” (anymore) to set up a trilogy fight against the mouthy Irishman.

“I don’t know. Do you remember last time they rushed to his house the next morning and said he was all obsessed or whatever? I was pretty crazy about it for a couple of days, but it’s whatever to me, you know? I won that fight and I’m not jumping for joy already for round three. I think I beat him twice, so it’s 2-0 as far as I’m concerned. It might get made down the road, I don’t know. I believe they know too, because he’s got a smart coach on his hands. Him and his coach know what happened in the fight and they aren’t stupid, so I think they are going to do what they can to return to his division and get onto a new stage.”

There’s $2 million reasons why I’d be jumping at the chance for a third fight.

Nevertheless, Diaz is prepared to take some time off now that he isn’t so crazy to run it back one more time against the current featherweight champion who may be fighting for the lightweight title next.
