Nate Diaz has chimed in on the Zubaira Tukhugov situation as only Nate Diaz can.
UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov caught the attention of the MMA world on Thursday by issuing an ultimatum to his promoters, telling the company he would no longer fight for them if it disciplined his teammates involved in Saturday night’s post-fight melee in Las Vegas at UFC 229.
One of those teammates, featherweight Tukhugov, was involved in the brawl after Nurmagomedov’s fourth-round submission win over Conor McGregor in UFC 229’s main event, has reportedly been pulled from his upcoming bout at UFC Moncton with McGregor ally Artem Lobov.
But Diaz has come up with, in his mind, a novel solution: Fire him instead.

While that seems to make no sense on the surface, it’s long been plain the Stockton, Calif. lightweight has been unhappy with the UFC for quite some time.
Diaz, who has not fought since his majority-decision loss to McGregor in their rematch at UFC 202, was slated to fight Dustin Poirier in the co-feature bout of UFC 230 next month at Madison Square Garden, but the bout was wiped out when Poirier had to pull out due to injury earlier this week.
