Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison: ‘No one does underdog better than Ronda Rousey’

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey refuses to do any media ahead of her UFC 207 pay-per-view (PPV) main event against Amanda Nunes, which takes place this Friday night (Dec. 30, 2016) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

So her friends are doing it for her.

“I can tell you that in the old days if Ronda suffered a loss, she came back with a vengeance,” former roommate and Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison told FOX Sports. “I’m expecting that. No one does underdog better than Ronda Rousey. She likes that feeling. She likes having to prove something to people. It’s going to be insane.”

She will definitely have something to prove after this.

While the whole “underdog” angle sounds nice in theory, Rousey opened as a 3-to-1 favorite over the Brazilian bomber ahead of their 135-pound headliner. We also don’t know what Rousey plans to do — if anything — in the wake of UFC 207.

Retirement certainly sounds like it’s on the table but we won’t know that until after the fight, assuming the “Rowdy” pillow gag order doesn’t remain in effect straight through the New Year.
