Next stop for Asia’s biggest MMA promotion will be Macau with a show booked for the Cotai Arena on August 13th.
The event was recently listed on the organization’s website meaning that Macau will become the 11th country to host a ONE Championship card. The Cotai Arena is in The Venetian Resort (pictured) and has previously played host to a number of UFC events and Top Rank boxing cards.
In recent years the likes of Zou Shiming, Nonito Donaire, Guillermo Rigondeaux, and Manny Pacquiao have all competed in world title fights at the venue while it also hosted MMA bouts involving big names such as Michael Bisping, Rich Franklin, and Cung Le.
This will be ONE Championship’s 44th card and kicks off an extremely busy period which will see the promotion hold events on three consecutive weekends for the first time in its history. On August 27th there is a show booked in Jakarta followed by Kuala Lumpur on September 2nd.
After that it is Yangon on October 7th, Singapore on November 11th, Manila on December 2nd, and Bangkok on December 17th. The latter show will be the promotion’s second of the year in Thailand and is also scheduled to be ONE Championship’s 50th card.
