Ovince Saint Preux challenges UFC to get him a fight, believes light heavyweights are scared of him

Ovince Saint Preux is tired of waiting.

Sure, he picked up his 19th professional win a little over a month against Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante, however, the former college football player is already anxious to get back in there.

“I get it, guys in my division are scared to fight me,” Saint Preux told MMAFighting.com, “I get that. I’m breaking people’s arms and choking people out with stuff they ain’t ever seen. But c’mon [UFC matchmaker] Joe [Silva] make someone man up and fight me.

“Gustafsson, Bader, Manuwa and Latifi don’t have fights lined up. I’d love to rematch Bader, because he’s a great fighter and he’s not afraid of anyone. If not those guys, how about Josh Barnett or Travis Browne? I know those guys in the heavyweight division aren’t afraid to throw down.”

OSP’s coach and manager Joey Zonar concedes the unanimous decision win over Cavalcante won’t be on any highlight reels, however, he said OSP severely sprained his ankle on the second kick he threw. Saint Preux has since been fully cleared by doctors to return to action and is just waiting for his name to get called.

“We asked for a fight within two weeks of his win over Feijao,” Zonar said, “and all we got from the UFC was, We’ll let you know when we have a fight.”

Since losing a one-sided decision to Ryan Bader in Aug. 2014, the 32-year-old OSP has won three of his last four fights. He was hoping to replace the injured Shogun Rua against Rashad Evans next month at UFC on FOX 19 in Tampa Bay, but that call went to Glover Teixeira instead.
