The show must go on!
With late injuries canceling the main event between Dustin Poirier vs. Joe Duffy, as well as the co-main event pitting Stipe Miocic against Ben Rothwell, Flyweight phenom Paddy Holohan earns headlining duties opposite Louis Smolka when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) delivers the upcoming UFC Fight Night 76 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Saturday (Oct. 24, 2015) inside 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, live on the UFC Fight Pass digital network.
But, you (hopefully) knew that already.
The good news is, the replacement headliner could turn out to be a great fight. Holohan (12-1-1) trains alongside interim Featherweight champion Conor McGregor at SBG Ireland and already holds a Dublin win thanks to a first-round submission victory at UFC Fight Night 46.
I would expect a hero’s welcome for “The Hooligan.”
That’s not to suggest he has an easy fight. On the contrary, Smolka (9-1) is a dangerous competitor with serious finishing ability. Not only can “Da Last Samurai” tap you with his ground game, he also holds three violent wins by knockout/technical knockout.
This could easily be “Fight of the Night.”
