Former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimbett has been forced out of his upcoming bout with Vladimir Sikic after suffering a concussion in training.
“The Baddy” was hoping to bounce back from his second career loss after Nad Narimani snapped his nine-fight win streak to claim the featherweight belt at Cage Warriors 82 in April.
Pimblett is a fan favorite in Liverpool and a proven seller at the Echo Arena. His loss will surely be felt on the Cage Warriors 88 card, which is topped by the promotion’s lightweight champion and Pimblett’s Next Generation teammate, Chris Fishgold.
Cage Warriors released a tweet on Wednesday to announce the news.
Paddy Pimblett suffered a concussion in training and will not be competing at CW88 on medical grounds. We wish Paddy a speedy recovery.

The promotion sent out a press release on Wednesday announcing that another local fighter, Molly “The Meatball” McCann, would be in action on the night against Brazilian flyweight, Priscila de Souza.
The release also carried the news of Pimblett’s withdrawal:
“Sadly former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett has been forced off the card for this event after sustaining a concussion.”
Cage Warriors 88 takes place on Oct. 28 at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
