It appears that Paige VanZant’s next fight booking has been confirmed.
Just a few days removed from a big win in her UFC debut, Jessica-Rose Clark has been re-booked in a fight with a high-profile opponent. Clark will meet likely meet Paige VanZant in a flyweight bout in St. Louis, according to MMA Fighting.
Clark (8-4, 1 NC, 1-0 UFC) entered the promotion as a late replacement for Joanne Calderwood to take on Bec Rawlings at UFC Sydney last weekend, where she won a decision. She is on a two-fight winning streak overall.
VanZant (7-3, 4-2 UFC) stated a desire to move up to flyweight after a loss to Michelle Waterson last December. She was supposed to fight Jessica Eye in her 125-pound debut, but pulled out with an injury. She then claimed she was going to get a flyweight title shot right away, but UFC officials shot that down immediately.
UFC St. Louis, or UFC Fight Night 124, hoes down in the Scottrade Center on January 14th. The only other major bout announced for the card is Uriah Hall vs. Vitor Belfort.
