Patricio Freire wants SBG vs. Pitbull Brothers card in Bellator: McGregor is invited

Patricio Freire has an interesting idea for a future Bellator card in Ireland.

The Bellator featherweight champion said he is interested in the promotion putting together a Pitbull Brothers vs. SBG Ireland card — and UFC superstar Conor McGregor can join in on the fun.

“Saw @BellatorMMA @ScottCoker plans to hold shows in Ireland and people mentioned a SBG vs another team for an event, so let’s do a full card Pitbull Brothers vs SBG,” Freire wrote Wednesday on Twitter. “We’ll straight blast you harder than a dolly through a bus glass window. @TheNotoriousMMA is invited.”

Notable fighters from Pitbull Brothers — a gym in Natal, Brazil — are Freire, his older brother Patricky, who competes in the Bellator lightweight division, Bellator bantamweight Leandro Higo, and UFC women’s bantamweight Bethe Correia. SBG Ireland is home to the likes of McGregor, UFC featherweight Artem Lobov, Bellator fighters James Gallagher and Charlie Ward, among others.

SBG athlete Peter Queally responded to Freire on Twitter.

SBG head coach John Kavanagh seems interested, as well.

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Freire’s teammates want in on a Pitbull Brothers vs. SBG card, too.

According to Freire, it’s now up to Bellator to make Pitbull Brothers vs. SBG Ireland a reality.

For now, though, Freire has a title rematch against Daniel Weichel coming up at Bellator 203 on July 14 in Rome, Italy. He knocked Weichel out in 2015; since then, the challenger has won four in a row.
