Reports that Demetrious Johnson and Ben Askren could soon be finding new homes raised all kinds of questions for what this means for the sport of MMA.
On Wednesday, ESPN broke the news that the UFC’s Johnson and ONE Championship’s Askren were involved in “trade” talks that would see them leave the promotions they’ve reigned over for years.
While the deal is yet to be finalized and details of how exactly it will work are still being ironed out — the fighters are expected to be released by their respective promotions — that didn’t stop the MMA community from offering their takes on the landscape-shaking move.

Ok I put my tinfoil hat on for a moment and it came to me.
Four man UFC Welterweight Grand Prix. Woodley vs Covington then Askren vs GSP. Winners face off to fight for the championship and welterweight GOAT status.
Who do you think wins?

Hell ya. @Benaskren and Mighty Mouse should do a bare knuckle boxing match at King of Diamonds in Miami while we crowd around the ring spraying champagne and throwing money at them. https://t.co/psHJrkLw0U
