As news about the UFC allegedly working on a rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, at welterweight, for UFC 200 broke, many began shaking their heads, including UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and featherweight contender Frankie Edgar.
A 155-pound title fight between dos Anjos and McGregor was on tap for UFC 196 before dos Anjos had to withdraw due to an injured foot. That was how the initial McGregor vs. Diaz fight came together.
Diaz, however, put the MMA world on its head when he upset McGregor, submitting the brash Irishman in the second round.
The idea of the rematch doesn’t sit well with dos Anjos, who believes he could beat both men… on the same night.

As for Edgar, he has been waiting in the wings for the better part of the past two years, waiting for his shot at the featherweight belt, which currently resides on McGregor’s mantle. Since failing to wrest the belt from then-champion Jose Aldo in early 2013, Edgar’s five-fight winning streak includes some of the biggest names mixed martial arts has ever known, including BJ Penn, Urijah Faber, and Chad Mendes.
