The current season of The Ultimate Fighter has a headliner for its Finale.
UFC officials confirmed on Tuesday that former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos will take on rising welterweight contender Kamaru Usman at the November 30th card in Las Vegas.
Rafael dos Anjos (28-10) was on a three-fight winning streak ever since moving up to the welterweight division in 2017. During that time, he quickly snatched up wins over the likes of Tarec Saffiedine, Neil Magny, and former titleholder Robbie Lawler. However, he was bested by Colby Covington via unanimous decision at UFC 225, in a fight for the division’s interim belt.
Kamaru Usman (13-1) will look for his ninth consecutive win inside the Octagon. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ already holds wins over notables names such as Demian Maia and Sergio Moraes, and has not lost a fight since his second professional bout, in May 2013. Usman served as a backup opponent for Tyron Woodley and Darren Till at UFC 228 last month.
TUF 28 Finale: RDA vs. Usman will air live on FS1 at the Pearl Theatre at Palms Casino Resort. Also included will be the TUF 28 finals for the women’s featherweight and heavyweight divisions, as well as a featherweight bout between Gilbert Melendez and Arnold Allen.
