Flyweights Ray Borg and Brandon Moreno will look to get back on track at UFC Fight Night 127 in Austin next year.
Two UFC flyweight contenders coming off losses will meet in Austin.
Ray Borg vs. Brandon Moreno has been booked for UFC Fight Night Night 127 in February, promotion officials announced Friday.
Borg (11-3) was submitted by 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson in the fifth round of their title fight at UFC 216 last month. Borg, ultimately, did not pull off the nearly impossible feat of upsetting Mighty Mouse, but his resilience did impress fans. Prior to the Johnson fight, the Jackson-Wink MMA fighter picked up two wins in a row with decisions over Jussier Formiga and Louis Smolka.
After an unsuccessful stint on The Ultimate Fighter 24, Moreno (14-4) started out his career in the Octagon in a big way, upsetting Smolka by first-round submission at UFC Fight Night 96 in October 26. After that, the Mexican 23-year-old defeated Ryan Benoit and Dustin Ortiz by decision and submission, respectively. But most recently, in his first UFC headliner, he was outpointed by Sergio Pettis in Mexico.
UFC Fight Night 127 takes place at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on Feb. 18. No other fights have been announced for the card as of yet.
The UFC last held an event in Austin in November 2014. Frankie Edgar finished Cub Swanson in its main event.
