Hey, remember when former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones went on a Twitter tirade and told the mixed martial arts (MMA) community his positive drug test was an anomaly and should in no way be compared to Brock Lesnar?
Yeah, about that…
Lesnar, who flunked an out-of-competition drug test ahead of his combat sports return, blew up his second drug test — in competition — for the UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza, which took place earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Now we know why, according to L.A. Times:
An official with knowledge of Lesnar’s samples identified the banned substance as the fertility drug clomiphene, one of the two banned substances found in a June sample taken from former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Anti-estrogen is most commonly used as anti-moob medication, among other things, to help combat the side effects of steroids.
That said, both Lesnar and Jones are both entitled to due process. “Bones” insists he’s never cheated and would not resort to performance-enhancing drugs to gain a competitive edge. Lesnar, on the other hand, simply grumbled something unintelligible and went about his business.
Can’t say we didn’t see this coming…
