UFC welterweight veteran Erick Silva will face Yancy Medeiros in Rio de Janeiro, on June 3rd.
Welterweights Erick Silva and Yancy Medeiros have agreed to meet in Rio de Janeiro, as Combate reported they would clash at UFC 212, for the UFC’s next visit to Brazil. UFC officials have not announced the matchup themselves.
Erick Silva (19-7 (1 NC)) will try to put together yet another win streak following his rear-naked choke of Luan Chagas in his last outing, in September 2016. Before that he suffered two losses to Nordine Taleb and Neil Magny. Since his UFC debut in 2011, Silva has been unable to win more than two in a row.
Also unable to get more than two wins in a row, Yancy Medeiros (13-4 (1 NC)) comes off a rear-naked choke of Sean Spencer in his last fight, in September 2016. He dropped a thrilling unanimous decision to Francisco Trinaldo at UFC 198, and hasn’t won two in a row since 2014, when he defeated Joe Proctor and Damon Jackson.
UFC 212 is headlined by a featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and top contender Max Holloway. The night’s main card airs live on pay-per-view.
