A pair of bantamweight sluggers could be headed to New York. According to freelance journalist Farah Hannoun’s report, Thomas Almeida and Cory Sandhagen are being lined up to square off at UFC on ESPN+ 1 on January 19th.

Once a rising prospect at the bantamweight division, Thomas Almeida (21-3) has struggled in his last couple of outings. Currently on a two-fight losing skid, with losses to Rob Font and Jimmie Rivera, the 27-year-old hasn’t won a fight since November 2016, when he knocked out Albert Morales.

Still undefeated in the Octagon, Cory Sandhagen (9-1) is on a two-fight winning streak in the Octagon, with TKO wins over the likes of Austin Arnett and Iuri Alcantara. Sandhagen’s sole loss came in February 2017, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Jamall Emmers.

UFC on ESPN+ 1 takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and will be headlined by a superfight between flyweight champion, Henry Cejudo, and bantamweight titleholder, TJ Dillashaw, with the 125 belt on the line.
