Report: Top UFC flyweight contender John Dodson moving back to bantamweight

After coming up short against flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson — twice — John Dodson is moving back to the bantamweight division.
Most mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters drop a weight class after a tough loss, or unsuccessful runs at the division title, but there is no strawweight class for men in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and “The Magician” wants less to worry about before the fight, not more.
Especially with the recent ban on IV hydration.
There’s also that teeny, tiny little matter of him knocking out reigning 135-pound kingpin TJ Dillashaw, back when they were dueling finalists on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14. That was nearly four years ago and a lot has changed since then, but a win is a win.
And Dodson knows how to sell a fight.
How well he performs in his return — expected to be in early 2016, according to UFC Tonight — remains to be seen, but check out the top 15 of the bantamweight division HERE and let us know who you think would make a good first fight for the Jackson-Winkeljohn product.
