Trouble in paradise? According to ESPN, prices for the remaining tickets for UFC 202 this weekend (Sat. Aug., 20, 2015) in Las Vegas, Nevada — which is set to pop off from T-Mobile Arena — have been slashed. Per the report, select upper-level tickets originally selling for $365 were reduced by 41 percent to $215. Prime Octagon-side seats that cost $9,995 earlier in the week were down to $7,995 as of this morning. Other seats with an original price tag pf $2,950 were reduced to as low as $1,850.
No reason for the reduction in cost was given, as UFC spokesperson Dave Sholler declined comment.
That said, there could be many factors motivating the price reductions. Chief among them is the fact that there aren’t as many of McGregor’s fellow countrymen making the trek from Ireland this time around — as expected — because most of them coughed up plenty of coin to attend UFC 200 prior to “Notorious” getting pulled. And with it not being a cheap trip from Ireland to “Sin City,” it’s understandable most people just don’t have the means to do it again so soon.
Nevertheless, UFC 202 is still expected to pull in a $7 million gate and do very well in the pay-per-view (PPV) arena.
