She may have lost in her comeback attempt, but Ronda Rousey has proven that she is still a box office draw.

After over a year away from the fight game, Rousey made her return to the Octagon on December 20, 2016 to face current women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 207 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She then proceeded to get wiped out in just 48 seconds.

Nevertheless, MMA Supremacy (via Forbes) is reporting that the pay-per-view (PPV) event has raked in an estimated 1.1 million buys. It’ rather impressive, seeing as how “Rowdy” opted to blackout the media ahead of her return, not doing any interviews or attending customary pre-fight press conferences and media calls.

In the end, fight fans proved that they’re not all that interested in hearing her speak or try to promote a fight, they just want to see her scrap. But, Nunes didn’t give them much of a chance to see Ronda perform, as “Lioness” blitzed her way to her first-ever title defense.

Still, one can only wonder if the buy rate would’ve been much higher had “Rowdy” fulfilled the customary media obligations. Nevertheless, the success of the event — which also featured a co-main event title fight between Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt — means more zero’s for Ronda’s already massive payday.

After the defeat — her second in a row — Ronda confirmed that she would once again take some time off from the fight game before announcing her next step, though there are those that believe she should just hang them up for good.

Or get rid of this guy.
