A light heavyweight bout between Jared Cannonier and Steve Bosse at TUF 25 Finale has been scrapped. Now Cannonier will face newcomer Nick Roehrick.
Steve Bosse is out of The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale with an injury, but a replacement has been found.
UFC light heavyweight newcomer Nick Roehrick has stepped up to face Jared Cannonier on the main card of Friday’s event.
The details of Bosse’s injury are unclear at this time.
Twitter user Shawn Bitter first reported the news on Tuesday morning. Bosse confirmed the bout cancellation to French-Canadian outlet RDS.
Roehrick (7-0) was scheduled to compete on the fifth Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series event in August. Fighting out of North Carolina, Roehrick, 29, has won three of his pro bouts by stoppage.
Cannonier (9-2) is 2-2 inside the Octagon. After a loss to Shawn Jordan and a win over Cyril Asker at heavyweight, the 33-year-old dropped to 205 pounds, where he has since defeated Ion Cutelaba by decision and lost to top contender Glover Teixeira.
TUF 25 Finale takes place live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 7. In the main event, top lightweight Michael Johnson welcomes former WSOF champ Justin Gaethje to the UFC.
