Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was sold to financial superpower WME | IMG for a reported $4 billion on Monday, which means a new (and possibility exciting future) for mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters contracted by ZUFFA.
Sorry, but Robbie Lawler doesn’t give a shit.
“I’m not too worried about that, I concentrate on beating people up,” Lawler told TMZ. “Gotta stick to the basics which is grinding every day and making sure my skills are sharp so I can hold onto this belt and keep beating people up. I’m a fighter first and always will be, that’s what I got into this business for.”
He’ll need those skill later this month.
Lawler is tasked with defending his welterweight title against top contender Tyron Woodley at the upcoming UFC 201 pay-per-view (PPV) event, locked and loaded for Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 30, 2016.
