Sorry kid, you just got here.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will get his wish and collide with ex-welterweight kingpin Robbie Lawler in the 170-pound main event of UFC on FOX 26, which takes place on Sat., Dec. 16, 2017, inside Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
That’s a pretty tough opponent for a scared bitch.
Dos Anjos (27-9) abandoned the 155-pound division after consecutive losses to Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson, which he attributed to an unhealthy weight cut. Since his transition to 170 pounds, “RDA” scored wins over Tarec Saffiedine and Neil Magny.
Outside of a title fight, it doesn’t get any more dangerous than this.
Lawler (28-11, 1 NC) took a year off from mixed martial arts (MMA) following his knockout loss to Tyron Woodley in summer 2016. The rejuvenated slugger returned at UFC 214 to score a close decision victory over veteran “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone.
“Ruthless” has 20 knockouts in 28 wins.
UFC on FOX 26 will also feature the return of aging Brazilian bangers Glover Teixeira and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, who throw hands opposite light heavyweight hopefuls Misha Cirkunov and Jared Cannonier, respectively.
Stay tuned for more UFC on FOX 26 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
