Ronda Rousey is following through with her promise to a United States serviceman.
Back in August, a U.S. Marine named Jarrod Hash asked then-UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey to the Dec. 11 Marine Corps Ball. Just a few days later, Ronda said “yes” and the young Marine got his dream date.
And then UFC 193 happened, and, well …
So after a vicious knockout at the hands (and foot) of Holly Holm last month, some wondered if Rousey would follow through on her arrangement. Looks like things aren’t looking too good, according to Jarrod’s mom.
“Jarrod said he hasn’t heard anything yet,” Hash’s mother, Caroline, told New Jersey 101.5. “He said, ‘All I know is I’m going in the hopes she’ll be there.’”
Still, Hash had hopes.
“Our Marine Corps ball is next Friday and no I still haven’t talked to Ronda yet,” he wrote on Facebook last week. “I’m not worried about anything I’m sure she still has good intentions of coming and I am very excited. Thank you for all your help and support of getting her attention.”
