Based on her actions after UFC 217 and UFC 223, it was seen that Joanna Jedrzejczyk is not exactly gracious in defeat. Even after both of her losses, the former UFC 115-pound champion continues to maintain that she still deserves to be at the top of the division.
“You can see the other female strawweights fighting, and c’mon,” Jedrzejczyk said during the UFC 223 post-fight press conference. “They cannot compare themselves to me. They are all are only jealous and talking too much all the time. I’m telling them, bow down. I’m the queen.”
For her part, Rose Namajunas sees no point in making a third fight happen between her and Jedrzejczyk.
“Right now, that fight doesn’t really interest me at the moment,” Namajunas told TMZ Sports (transcript via MMA Fighting). “I think I’d be interested to see how she does with somebody else before even entertaining that possibility.”
“At the moment, there’s not much to gain from running that back again.”
The current strawweight champion, however, is not totally closing her doors for a potential third fight with the Polish Muay Thai champion. In fact, she has set one condition that would make her agree
“Unless she says I’m the best – publicly! Publicly because I already know she knows,” Namajunas said with a laugh.
“Just say it, to everybody,” she continued. “She knows I’m the best, but she won’t admit it to everybody.”
Jedrzejczyk is currently scheduled to fight Tecia Torres at the UFC’s upcoming FOX card on July 30th in Calgary.
