Sam Alvey has stepped in on short notice to replace Trevor Smith at UFC Gdansk, just over a week out from the Ergo Arena event on Oct. 21.
Alvey is now set to take on former M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, Ramazan Emeev, who makes his debut on the night.
The UFC announced that Alvey was stepping in to replace Smith via Twitter on Wednesday.

Russia-based Azerbaijani, Emeev, carries a four-fight win streak into his debut, two of which were defenses of his middleweight title. His last loss came against Vyacheslav Vasilevsky in a title defense back in 2014. In his next outing, he submitted Vasilevsky in the first round to reclaim his belt.
Sam Alvey comes into the fight off his split-decision win over Rashad Evans back at UFC Fight Night 114 in Mexico City. Before that, Alvey had a four-fight win streak snapped when he came up on the wrong side of decision against Thales Leites at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville.
