Former light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (23-10) faces Corey Anderson (8-1) at UFC 198 in his hometown of Curitiba, Brazil. UFC officials announced the addition to the May 14 fight card on Tuesday.
Rua, who is coming off a decision win over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 190, was expected to face Rashad Evans on April 16 at UFC on FOX 19, but pulled out of the fight due to injury earlier this month. The 34-year-old hopes to put together back-to-back wins for the first time since 2009.

Anderson is riding a three-fight winning streak and is currently ranked twelfth in the 205-pound division. He defeated Tom Lawlor by unanimous decision in his last outing at UFC 196 on March 5. He plans to continue to climb up the light heavyweight ladder when he faces the former champion.
UFC 198: Werdum vs. Miocic takes place at the Arena da Baixada. It is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Fabricio Werdum and second-ranked Stipe Miocic.
