Ever since Joanna Jedrzejczyk has been in the UFC, she has done her very best to play mental games with her opponents before she steps in the Octagon with them. Oddly though, in her first non-title fight in a very long time she hasn’t done much of that at all to UFC on Fox 30 opponent Tecia Torres.
Until yesterday at the weigh-ins, anyway.
As you can see above (video via MMA Fighting), Joanna got intense and they exchanged some words. Later during her media scrum, Torres described exactly what happened and said that Jedrzejczyk didn’t get to her with her comments:
“I thought it would be a little bit more than that. It is what it is, but it was fine. She’s not scary at all.”
“She said, ‘Welcome to hell. I told her, ‘I’m not scared.’ Then she said, ‘Just wait until the octagon door closes.’ I said ‘Okay I’m ready.’ And that’s what it was.”
The two ladies meet on the main card of the UFC on Fox card in Calgary tomorrow night. The event will be headlined by the rematch between Dustin Poirier and Eddie Alvarez.
