In the nearly three years since she joined Invicta FC, bantamweight veteran Tonya “Triple Threat” Evinger has become one of the promotion’s premier fighters, winning all four of her bouts for the company and capturing its bantamweight title in the process.
Evinger’s strong turn in Invicta doesn’t come so much as a result of major changes made in her game, but the realization what works best for her and applying it to her fights.
“It just comes down to being in a good place with coaches and being under less stress,” Evinger told MMAWeekly.com. “It’s coming together and I’m doing what I need to do to go out there and win.

“I’m figuring out the best style that works for me and just getting out there and fighting. I don’t think I changed much, I just think I have a different outlook on what I need to do to win fights.”
Evinger (17-6) will look to keep her winning streak going as she defends her 135-pound title at Invicta FC 17 on Saturday in Costa Mesa, Calif., against Colleen Schneider (10-6) in the evening’s main event.
“I take every fight that gets offered to me, but she didn’t want to fight,” said Evinger of Schneider. “Maybe she thought she needed a longer training camp, and that’s all good and everything, but your career is short enough, so you shouldn’t mess around.
