Burt Watson has been around the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) block more than once.
After working for the company for years, Watson was relieved of his duties — though we’ll never fully know exactly how it all went down — earlier this year.
As “Babysitter to the UFC Stars,” though, Watson left the world’s largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion with fond memories, as he witnessed and attended countless events throughout his tenure.
On the latest edition of “MMA Noise,” he names his tops five. Have a peek … in no particular order:
UFC 31 – B.J. Penn’s MMA debutUFC 100 – For the milestone that it wasUFC 101 – Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin and first and last time he worked with Junior EauUFC 157 – Ronda Rousey’s Octagon debutThe Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 1 Finale – Bonnar vs Griffin, the event that took the sport to another level
Not a bad list.
Plus, Watson admits that the women were “surprisingly easier” to work with than the men because they were very accommodating, very happy to be there and never acted like divas.
