All three judges scored the bout 29-28 for the former Bellator MMA Light champion, who called out newly-crowned UFC 155-pound champion Eddie Alvarez after the fight.

In the third, Pearson picked up his pace and came out aggressively. The England native avoided another takedown attempt by Brooks and tied him up against the fence, but landed a low blow. Referee Dan Miragliotta briefly halted the bout to let Brooks recover. When the fight resumed, Pearson, again, began to find success with his lands by landing several combinations on Brooks, who was covering up along the fence.
