The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) combat sports reality show aired its final entry on FOX Sports 1 last night (Weds., July 6, 2016) with episode 12 of season 23 titled “Fight of the Season,” coached by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and division No. 1 contender Claudia Gadelha.

With only one episode remaining and two semifinal fights yet to be uncorked, there wasn’t a tremendous amount of tomfoolery between the two teams. Instead, it was right to the pre-fight training, followed by the weigh ins, and of course, the fights themselves.
Who will join Andrew Sanchez and Amanda Cooper at TUF 23 Finale?
115 lbs.: Tatiana Suarez (3-0) vs. Kate Jackson (7-2-1)
Round 1: No touch of gloves and Suarez walking her down pawing the jab. Jackson eats a huge body kick then gets hip tossed and taken to the ground. Suarez has a neck crank but abandons to improve her position. Jackson able to get to half guard but she’s smushed into the fence. Suarez cradles her and it’s eerily quiet in the gym. Jackson tries to sit up and gets guillotined. It’s tight and she’s forced to tap.
Final result: Suarez def. Jackson via submission
UFC President Dana White calls Suarez “babe” after the fight. As expected, Jackson is devastated over her loss but we don’t have time to focus on that, because it’s time to switch over to the light heavyweight semis featuring two friends and teammates.
205 lbs.: Joshua Stansbury (7-2) vs. Khalil Rountree (4-0)
Round 1: They touch gloves and the feeling-out process begins. Rountree with some vicious strikes — a kick and then two follow up punches — puts Stansbury into takedown mode but his shot is denied. Huge shot from ….View full article
