The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) combat sports reality show was back on FOX Sports 1 last night (Weds., May 11, 2016) for episode four of season 23 titled “Wake Up, Guys!” coached by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and division No. 1 contender Claudia Gadelha.

We kick things off at the TUF gym and Team Joanna is working on takedown defense. Her assistant coach blasts the contestants for not being able to sprawl and how that was a contributing factor in both losses (Team Claudia is currently up two-zip).
Coach Jedrzejczyk piles on and blames “stupid mistakes,” then calls her team “pussies” who train like “school girls.” Call me crazy, but I get the feeling she doesn’t like losing. I dunno, just a hunch. Myron Dennis (12-4), who fights Andrew Sanchez (7-2) in the next elimination fight, was unfazed.
Dennis later calls a team huddle at the house to chant a bunch of inspirational things, but Sanchez was unimpressed. Meanwhile, Coach Gadelha shows up with steaks for a Brazilian barbecue and this is the first time in my life I ever wanted to be a TUF contestant.
Spending the night with juicy steaks, cold beer, and Claudia?
We start to get a closer look at the two fighters who will compete in just a few minutes. Sanchez is a four-time All American wrestler and was selected to fight Dennis — an accomplished kickboxer — to break Team Joanna’s strongest guy early in the show. It’s a risky move, but one that can pay dividends if it pans out.
