Rizin Fighting Federation has announced two MMA bouts for its third event in Nagoya, Japan, on April 17. In the heavyweight division, veteran Kazuyuki Fujita is set to take on Jiri Prochazka, while prospects Allan Nascimento and Yuki Motoya battle in a flyweight contest.
Fujita (15-10) looks for his first win since 2008, when he stopped Peter Graham at Sengoku 1. The 45-year-old fighter has faced the likes of Alistair Overeem, Wanderlei Silva, Fedor Emelianenko, Mirko Filipovic, Ken Shamrock, Mark Coleman and Mark Kerr since his MMA debut in 2000.
Prochazka (16-3-1), 22 years younger than his opponent, competed at the first couple Rizin events last December, finishing Satoshi Ishii and Vadim Nemkov before losing to Muhammed Lawal in the tournament final, snapping an 11-fight undefeated streak.
Nascimento (14-3) makes his promotional debut looking to avenge his teammate Felipe Efrain against Motoya (15-4, 1 NC). On Dec. 29, Efrain defeated Motoya via first-round TKO, but the result was overturned to a no-contest since the Brazilian failed to make weight.
The event is scheduled for the 10,000-seat Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, and is headlined by Japanese veterans Kazushi Sakuraba and Hideo Tokoro teaming up for a grappling tag match against Wanderlei Silva and a fighter still to be announced. The card also includes Hisaki Kato vs. Yuta Watanabe in a 180-pound MMA fight.
