Two Titles on the Line at ONE: Kingdom of Champions

ONE: Kingdom of Champions is set for the Impact Arena in Bangkok on May 27. It will feature two title fights with Thailand’s Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke defending his strawweight title against Yoshitaka Naito in the main event.

Dejdamrong (6-0) is a former Lumpinee Stadium champion and Muay Thai veteran who took up MMA relatively late in life. He has taken the strawweight division by storm but has been handed the toughest test of his career to date for his homecoming fight.

Naito (10-0) has spent his entire career competing for Shooto. He is the organization’s reigning 115-pound champion and has successfully defended that title twice, establishing himself as arguably the number one strawweight in the world.

The other title fight sees undefeated Russian Marat Gafurov take on another promotional newcomer in a title fight. The reigning featherweight champion is booked to take on Japanese veteran Kazunori Yokota in the co-main event.

Gafurov (13-0) has won all four of his ONE Championship fights with a rear naked choke. His most recent victory came at the expense of previous champion Narantungalag Jadambaa and earned him the ONE featherweight title, which he will be defending for the first time in Bangkok.

Yokota (25-5-3) is riding an incredible 13-fight winning streak, dating all the way back to 2010. He is the reigning Deep featherweight champion, formerly held the organization’s lightweight title, and has never been submitted in his competitive MMA career.
