Tyron Woodley makes no bones about it. He could care less if Stephen Thompson is the top UFC welterweight contender. As the new champion of the division, Woodley wants to get paid for big money fights, and he doesn’t believe that Thompson represents a big money fight.
He instead has his sights set on a blockbuster bout with Nick Diaz, who is returning from an 18-month suspension, or Georges St-Pierre, who says that he is ready to return to fighting, but has yet to give anyone any sort of timeline.

Diaz said he was in, for the right amount of money, but Woodley told TMZ Sports on Monday that he felt like a fight with St-Pierre was closer to reality than one with Diaz.

“Either one of those fights makes sense to me. They both tough opponents. They know I’m no walk in the park. I’m just trying to get paid. I’m gonna be straight up,” said Woodley, before adding, “Actually, I think that the Georges St-Pierre fight is a little bit closer than the Nick Diaz fight.”
