In the shadow of the upcoming UFC 194 pay-per-view (PPV) main event between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, is a very intriguing middleweight championship showdown pitting Chris Weidman (champion) against Luke Rockhold (challenger).
But it reads more like a mismatch, according to Rockhold’s scouting report.
In fact, the former Strikeforce 185-pound titleholder told the mixed martial arts (MMA) media (audio) that he’s already prepared to nullify the champion’s wrestling attack. And as far as those signature wins Weidman has over Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort, well, that’s not going to cut it, either.
From the UFC 194 media conference call (via MMA Fighting):
“Weidman has to think twice if he thinks his wrestling is going to dictate where the fight takes place, because I deal with that shit every day. Chris is about to find out, he’s got a lot of holes in his game and he just hasn’t fought anybody who’s been able to exploit them until now.
