The Fight of the Night award went to the main event bout, the welterweight fight between featherweight champion Conor McGregor and top five-ranked lightweight Nate Diaz.
McGregor was swinging for the fences and opened up a nasty cut over Diaz’ eye. In the second frame, Diaz landed a left hand that hurt the Irishman. The fight went to the ground and Diaz tapped out the 145-pound titleholder with a rear-naked choke.

Former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate earned a Performance of the Night check for her fifth-round submission win over bantamweight titleholderHolly Holm in the fight card’s co-main event. It was Holm’s first title defense since earning the belt by knocking out Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. It was also Holm’s first career loss.
