On Jan. 31, 2016, Jon Jones was cited by a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputy after he was caught driving without a license, registration, or insurance in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Full details here.

Thankfully, the transgressions were in no part a violation of his probation for a prior hit-and-run accident, also in “The Duke City.”

But it wasn’t due to special treatment.

Now, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion can breath a bit easier, as “Bones” received a 90-deferral after he entered a no-contest plea during a recent brief appearance at the Metropolitan Court in Albuquerque.

That’s according to the Albuquerque Journal, who confirms that “Bones” showed up with all the documents needed to prove that his vehicle was insured, registered and that he had an eligible license to drive.

Don’t say he didn’t tell you so.

After the deferral period comes to an end, the citations will be dismissed and erased from his record for good.

“Bones” is expected to face Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 197 on April 23, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada in an attempt to reclaim the 205-pound title.
