Daniel Cormier’s frown was turned upside down after Anderson Silva agreed to face him at UFC 200 on two days notice after Jon Jones was flagged for a USADA violation ahead of their much-anticipated rematch scheduled for July 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As for what’s next for Cormier, defending his Light Heavyweight title is in order. However, it won’t be against Jones, as the ex-division king could be facing a two year suspension. And Daniel, for one, isn’t waiting around to get one back on his bitter rival.

“Well, I’m not going to wait for him for two years. I’m 37. But, I’ll probably fight the winner of (Anthony) “Rumble” (Johnson) and Glover Teixeira. It just seems like it makes the most sense,” said Cormier during the post-fight press conference via FOX Sports.

“Those guys are all well deserving. Those guys are all well deserving. They won fights in a row and both of them deserve title shots.”

As for Jon’s situation, Cormier says he needs to focus on his personal and possible legal pending issues moving forward instead of returning to the cage.

“I think we need to kind of see what happens with Jon, kind of let him get through that and see what’s going to happen next. With all that’s going on right now, his focus can’t be fighting right now, it’s got to be figuring this out,” Cormier said.
