Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight finishers Daniel Cormier and Anderson Silva will clash TONIGHT (July 9, 2016) at UFC 200 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cormier had every intention of end the bad blood with rival Jon Jones, ideally by putting his fist through Jones’ face. However, a failed drug test just days before the event left Cormier without a dancing partner.
Enter “The Spider.”
Silva may have lost his last bout, but seeing as he essentially knocked his opponent — the current Middleweight kingpin — out cold at one point, this doesn’t seem like such an unreasonable match up. Regardless of the circumstances, Silva finds himself with an opportunity to become a two-division champ and capture the 205 lbs. strap.

Keys to Victory: Cormier is a dominant wrestler and clinch fighter. He’s also an incredibly tough athlete, willing to push hard long past when most fighters would give up.
Opposite Silva, Cormier has to be careful with his habits of leaning into punches and pushing forward with little regards for defense. Quite frankly, Silva has made a career out of knocking out fighters in a hurry to take him down.
Olympian or no, the fight starts on the feet.
