UFC 200 Medical Suspensions: Five Fighters Face Six Month Layoffs

The aftermath of UFC 200, which took place on July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, could leave five fighters on the sidelines for six months. The Nevada State Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions stemming from the event on Monday.

Former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate was submitted by Amanda Nunes in the fight card’s main event after taking extensive damage. Tate suffered a broken nose during the bout and must have it cleared by doctors or be sidelined until January 6, 2017. Others that could be on the shelf for six months include lightweight prospect Sage Northcutt, heavyweight Travis Browne, bantamweight contender Raphael Assuncao, and Diego Sanchez.
