Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweights and former champions Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar dueled last night (Sat., July 9, 2016) at UFC 200 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Aldo’s last fight was as disastrous as possible, as nearly a year of trash talk and drama climaxed with Aldo rushing into a knockout punch for his first loss in nearly a decade. Now on the comeback trail, Aldo was looking to prove that he was still one the absolute best.

On the other hand, Edgar entered on one of the best win streaks of his career, showing off more skill than ever. While defeating Aldo would only capture the interim title, it would still be a massive milestone for “The Answer.”
Edgar opened up with his usual movement and lots of low kicks while Aldo played the counter puncher. While there weren’t any massive connections in the first round, Edgar’s high volume and effective connections kept him in the control.
In the final minute of the round, Aldo really turned it up. He scored with a hard right hand, intercepting knee, and flurried in the last 10 seconds.
The last 60 seconds made it an extremely close round.
The second round played out in similar fashion. While Edgar pressured his opponent and landed some kick punches and low kicks, Aldo remained patient and waited for counter opportunities.
