Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Las Vegas, Nevada, tonight (Sat., Aug., 20, 2016) as T-Mobile Arena plays host to the UFC 202 pay-per-view (PPV) event that features a Welterweight rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor. There’s really no explanation needed as to how monumental this rematch is, as McGregor’s hype train could completely fall off the tracks should he lose to Diaz for a second time. Plus, the way both of these men have been acting toward each other in the build up to this bout — throwing bottles and death threats — the PPV extravaganza could go on to obliterate all sales records for the promotion. At least according to company president Dana White. In addition, should Diaz go two-for-two against “Notorious,” he can pretty much write his own ticket for the remainder of his Octagon career.
Lost in the “McGregor vs. Diaz 2” madness is a pretty good No. 1 contender eliminator match between two of the hardest-hitting Light Heavyweights in all the division, Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira, which will co-headline the event for a shot at Daniel Cormier’ 205-pound strap. You can catch all the action LIVE with a PPV main card start time of 10 p.m. ET (for up-to-second UFC 202 results click here).
