In a little under two weeks, the mixed martial arts (MMA) world will welcome back perhaps the greatest female fighter the sport has ever seen, as Ronda Rousey returns at UFC 207 on Dec. 30, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Standing in her way will be current women’s bantamweight titleholder, Amanda Nunes — who is a little under the weather at the moment.
It’s been over a year since “Rowdy” has stepped foot inside the Octagon following her first-ever loss in the sport, getting knocked out by Holly Holm at UFC 193.
Before Rousey’s return, Gracie brothers Ryron and Rener put together a “Gracie Breakdown” looking back at Ronda’s first-ever win inside the Octagon, which she obtained by submitting Liz Carmouche via armbar at UFC 157 back in 2013.
It was a historic moment, as it not only solidified Ronda as a future superstar, but was also the first-ever women’s fight to take place inside the eight-walled cage. The win wasn’t easy for Ronda, though, as she had to survive an early scare from Liz, who was all over Rousey’s back, trying to sink in a rear-naked choke.
The Gracies break down the finishing move, as well as Rousey’s submission defense for your viewing pleasure.
