The injury bug is alive and well.

Alan Jouban has been forced out of his scheduled fight against Brian Camozzi, which was set to be contested at Welterweight at the upcoming UFC 213 pay-per-view (PPV) event on July 8, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a broken foot.

Jouban took to Instagram to break the bad news:

LIFE and the FIGHT GAME.. both full of highs and lows. Today, not such a good day. Just gonna take it in stride..

“It turns out that I fractured my foot on Friday at sparring. I’ve been training on it for three days now with a broken foot. So that puts me out of my fight July 8th. A little bit disappointing. I’ve been healthy training my butt off for two months, I finally get a fight, and I’m injured. So I’m sorry to everyone, family, friends, everyone excited for it. I’m going to have to push it back a couple more weeks, as soon as I can get another fight.”

Bummer.

Jouban was looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Gunnar Nelson at UFC Fight Night 107 last March, his first loss in his last four outings. As for Camozzi, he was looking to earn his first win inside the Octagon after coming up short in his Octagon debut against Randy Brown back in Dec. 2016.

Despite this setback, UFC 213 is still stacked to the gills, featuring a women’s Bantamweight title fight between division champion Amanda Nunes facing off against Valentina Schevchenko for a second time. In the co-main event, Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero will face off for the interim Middleweight strap, while Robbie Lawler and Donald Cerrone duke it out in what is sure to be a stand up affair.

Meanwhile, Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem square off for the third time, while Sergio Pettis takes on Jim Miller in his return to Lightweight.
