LAS VEGAS — When Rob Font starts cranking up the offense, there’s little slowing him down.

Even if he gets a little sloppy along the way.

The Boston-area bantamweight had one of the biggest wins of his career on Saturday night, as he rolled over Brazil’s Douglas Silva de Andrade at UFC 213. Font won on a submission via guillotine choke at 4:36 of the second round at T-Mobile Arena.

“This was a great opportunity to show that I’m well rounded, I’m here to stay and I’m here to compete,” said Font (13-2), who won for the fourth time in his five UFC fights.

Font pushed the pace from the beginning, always moving forward, and landing a mix of combos and knees that kept da Andrade guessing. Font also landed a deep but inadvertent eye poke at the end of one such exchange, one that clearly troubled de Andrade over the rest of the bout.

In the second, a huge overhand right spelled the beginning of the end. Font swarmed him, got the guillotine, and survived a desperation slam before de Andrade tapped.

De Anrdade (24-2, 1 NC) dropped to 2-2 in the UFC.
