The UFC has moved UFC 214 up to July, which is shaping up to be another busy month of events.
The UFC was aiming to go to the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA for a pay-per-view event on January 21st. Those plans were scrapped, and the Honda Center show was pushed back to August 5th. On Friday, the UFC announced that they’ve moved UFC 214 up a week to Saturday, July 29th. The card doesn’t have any fights booked, but that’ll likely change within the next month or so.
What this means for fans is that for the second year in a row, July will have multiple pay-per-views. In fact, this is what is already lined up for what is normally the UFC’s marquee month:
UFC Fight Night (Fight Pass) – Thursday, July 6th
The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale (FS1) – Friday, July 7th
UFC 213 (PPV) – Saturday, July 8th
UFC 214 (PPV) – Saturday, July 29th
This isn’t necessarily the complete schedule, as the past two years the UFC has had a Wednesday event on FS1 the week after its big Independence Day weekend PPV. Big FOX cards are also typically held in July, so it looks as if just like 2016, there will be six UFC events in a single month.
