Oezdemir followed up with a huge left shot that put Manuwa out, forcing the referee to step in.
Official result: Volkan Oezdemir def. Jimi Manuwa by knockout (punches) at :42 of round 1
Oezdemir’s third win in the Octagon puts himself in a prime spot for a potential title shot against the winner of tonight’s main event between champ Cormier and Jones. The only contender ahead of him in the title mix now is former title challenger Alexander Gustafsson.
